Denark served as the General Contractor on the McGhee Tyson Airport SRES/Maintenance Center project that consisted of the construction of 89,200 SF to include snow equipment storage, a vehicle maintenance facility, and other associated facilities. The project encompassed the complete building construction of all components of the SRES/Maintenance center site, including a fuel and wash island, hazmat storage buildings, two tensile membrane structures, concrete and asphalt paved areas, site utilities, and a geothermal well field. Construction of the site included retaining walls, security fencing, and access controllers that were integrated with the airports security system.
“The facility contains a number of sophisticated, state-of-the-art systems including geothermally-assisted radiant floor heating, vehicle maintenance and lift equipment and data, life safety and security systems that presented challenges in construction. The work had to comply with a multitude of state and federal regulations. In performing the work, the air operations area security perimeter also had to be maintained. Denark’s team did a great job in meeting these challenges and delivering a successful completion of the project.”
